Hello! These girls aren't fooling: we will be closed March 16 to April 12 for some sprucing up and dusting off to get ready for the busy summer. We'll re-open on April 13 (a Friday, no less) for a movie with a Community Playreading to follow shortly.

And remember, you can always email Linda to give her your movie suggestions: movies@operahousearts.org. And don't forget to look at check out my bio page.

Here is my Tosca's Tune column from our Winter 2007 Newsletter:

What's wrong with this picture? Sure, here I am in my Opera House, sitting next to a row of seats (you may not have noticed the cool side design because the house lights are too dim--watch for that to change this spring!). Notice the seats: for those of you who've sat on a lumpy one (who hasn't?), with a bit of duct tape (or completely covered in duct tape), we wanted to let you know that it's happening. Not new seats (because they don't make them like this any more) but good as new... even better.

In fact, thanks to some generous board members, I now have a recushioned seat named in my honor, always, at the Opera House. But what's wrong with this picture? I have my own seat but I'm still not allowed to sit in it! Something about my hair, my nails, and mud from the yard. This is just wrong. Outrageous even. But I still appreciate the honor. You could do it, too. Honor someone you love, respect, or miss by buying an Opera House seat. They won't be forgotten (and neither will you) for making it possible to sit comfortably in the theater without lumps or springs.

You can call my editor or anyone at the Opera House for details, which I'm never gery good at remembering.

Welcome to the Opera House: please, have a seat!
