Renovating and keeping vibrant a nearly 100-year-old vaudeville theater takes more than an island. Thanks to Opera House Arts’ unique mission and programming, donors from across the U.S. help to keep this theater, a model for community development in America’s small, rural communities, alive.
Only 35% of Opera House Arts’ annual budget can be derived from ticket sales or other earned revenue. This ceiling is a result of the theater’s small, intimate nature (250 seats), and Opera House Arts’ desire to keep ticket prices affordable for our working community.
The other 65% of the annual budget, which keeps the heat on, the movies coming, the popcorn popping, the building upright and great new Maine performance being created, comes from your generous support.
