- FIRST OF ALL, WHERE'S THE PRINT FRIENDLY VERSION? Right here
- TICKETS: YES, please pay for and pick up tickets at the Opera House in downtown Stonington in advance. If you pick up your tickets at the Quarry, please be aware that we will be accepting cash and check only. Call the box office 207.367.2788 for reservations.
- ENTRANCE: Through the main gate of the Settlement Quarry on Oceanville Rd. Look for parking attendants and follow signs.
- THE SITE: For Friday and Saturday performances at 6:00 pm, the gate to the site opens for walking and exploring at 5 p.m. For the 2:00 Saturday performance, the quarry will open at 1:00pm. Pick up a copy of Quarry Quest while you wait!
- THE SHOW: Last year’s sneak preview of the work-in-progress introduced Cableman, a 25-foot-tall puppet; Deer Isle excavator operator extraordinaire Rick Weed; Pilobolus dancer Matt Kent and Wendee Rogerson of the Carolyn Dorfman Dance Company; pre-professional and community dancers; and the Rock and Steel pan band to one enthusiastic audience. In 2007, four performances will expand upon these themes, bringing more professional dancers and more surprising guest artists from the community to complete this original, one-of-a-kind spectacle. The show is an hour long.
- PARKING/SHUTTLE: There is VERY LIMITED parking available at the quarry. If you do drive there, PLEASE CARPOOL. For shuttle transport, please park in the Municipal lot on Memorial Lane in Stonington. Follow signs up the hill from the Opera House (on School Street) to designated parking areas near the old school building. A shuttle will be provided from the old school in Stonington to the Settlement Quarry in Oceanville. The first shuttle leaves a half hour before the gate opens, the last one leaves a half hour before the show starts. The shuttle is free, but we would like you to make reservations for it so we know how many people we are expecting.
- SEATING: Bring your own folding, beach, outdoor chairs, or cushions. Seating is along the rim of the quarry looking down at the performance, and out over the thorofare.
- GARBAGE: Pack it in, pack it out: you will be given a plastic bag to ensure you take all your garbage with you.
- FACILITIES: There are TWO port-a-potties available for audience use.
- HANDICAP ACCESS: we will be running a shuttle up the quarter-mile road to the top of the site. If you have a passenger needing handicap access, please meet the shuttle at the main entrance to the Quarry.
- SUPPORT THIS PROJECT: would you like to round up your ticket purchase to help support the future development of this project? Full spectacle to premiere in 2007—a big project and needs your tax-deductible support. (example: round $20 purchase to $25, $40 purchase to $50, etc.).
